Location: Troense, Tåsinge.
Occupation: Architect MAA
Setting: I went to Tåsinge, an island in southern Denmark to spend a day with Eske, where he is establishing his own studio and building the life that he believes makes the most sense.
Who is he: He made it out. Choosing the quiet life over Copenhagens big city urban convenience. Visiting Eske for a day, it's not hard to see why. The open sky, the gracious surroundings and the room for big toys. Restoring an old thatched tavern by the sea, dating back to 1777 - now becoming the private home with room for both family and architect studio. He is a family man, who knows what he wants from life and grabs it by the horns. Eske values the old virtuous - the handheld analog way, and the workflow always begins with pen and paper over the screen and keyboard, going just a little bit slower when immersing himself into the process of his work - a deep-felt and sincere belief that true quality comes from just that. Looking at his work and the home that his building, it seems like it pays off.
